Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory, ARC Employment Program, is seeking a Lead Sales in California to join our Adult Rehabilitation Centers team. The role supports the Store Manager in day‑to‑day operations, including cash handling, inventory, and customer service, while fostering a positive, mentoring work environment.

You will help meet sales and income budgets, supervise staff in the manager's absence, and coordinate training, timekeeping, and attendance.

Qualifications

• One year of retail experience required; supervisory experience preferred.
• Must pass background check including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, staff, customers and donors.

Responsibilities

• Lead Sales partners with Store Manager in daily store operations, including opening/closing, POS, inventory, merchandising and donations.
• Supervise day‑to‑day store operations in absence of Store/Assistant Manager; address concerns with District Sales Manager.
• Monitor and analyze KPIs to drive sales and profitability, aligned with budget and goals set by leadership.
• Schedule employees to ensure proper coverage; conduct team meetings; provide coaching and development; manage Time & Attendance.
• Ensure high levels of customer and donor satisfaction; develop strategies to improve service and community relations.
• Support Back Room Processing to meet daily processing goals.
• Oversee supervision and reporting of program beneficiaries when Work Therapy Assignments are in place.
• Protect store currency, inventory, and property; manage daily cash deposits and security.
• Ensure building security during non-operating hours and proper alarm procedures.
• Ensure safety measures per ARC policy and regulatory requirements; conduct weekly store meetings.
• May transfer to other stores based on business needs.
• Complete all tasks assigned by District Sales Manager, Command Retail Directors and Command Administration.
