Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to join our team to support store operations, customer service, and team development. This role involves assisting with daily store activities, organizing merchandise, and helping supervise store associates.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and prefers prior store management experience in retail. You must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Must read, interpret and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Physically able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform warehouse-like movements as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain storefront fixtures, displays, and promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, cash deposits/receipts), and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain store cleanliness, bathrooms, floors, and waste removal.
