Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with merchandising, opening/closing duties, and enforcing company policies to ensure a safe shopping environment.

The role requires strong communication and leadership abilities, a high school diploma or equivalent, and prior retail management exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent movements.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications related to activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash handling), and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked store and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a safe, positive, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of store including bathrooms, floors, trash, and restocking.
