Job summary

Dollar Tree seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with daily functions, organize merchandise, and help open/close the store while ensuring policies are followed.

In this role you will supervise and train store associates, manage payroll and scheduling, and maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers and staff alike. A strong focus on teamwork and communication is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and handle frequent walking, standing, and stooping.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff follow procedures.
• Assist Store Manager in supervising and developing Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neat presentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
