Job summary

Dollar Tree, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and the development of Store Associates. You will assist the Store Manager, supervise staff, ensure safety and policy compliance, manage merchandise flow, and maintain a clean, organized sales floor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Physical ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process all corporate directives including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey requests and related communications
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits) and loss prevention
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure associates follow procedures
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff
• Keep store clean and presentable including restrooms, floors, trash, and neatness
• Other duties as assigned
