Job summary

Community Housing Innovations (CHI) is seeking a Part-Time Resident Support Specialist for our Wading River location. You will provide a safe, structured environment for CHI residents and staff, coordinating client movement and monitoring conduct during tours of duty.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, 1–2 years in related fields, strong communication skills, and basic computer literacy. Overtime is available and shifts include weekend evenings.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1-2 years of experience in related field preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; English proficiency required; Spanish a plus.
• Basic computer skills: MS Windows, MS Office, Internet usage.

Responsibilities

• Maintain visibility to residents, staff, and visitors with safety gear and professional attire.
• Screen clients and visitors entering the facility.
• Perform bag searches during intake and as required.
• Ensure adherence to facility policies and procedures.
• De-escalate potential crises and document interventions.
• Conduct rounds of the facility to monitor areas.
