Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a part-time residency program assistant at Silvercrest Senior Residences in California. You will help manage applications, explain eligibility, and support income certification while maintaining accurate records and responding to resident needs.

The role includes after-hours on-call duties and requires a valid driver’s license. Work is on-site for 25 hours per week, typically 10am-3pm.

Qualifications

• Experience in administrative roles supporting housing or senior services.
• Ability to compose general correspondences and proofread for spelling, grammar, and layout.
• Strong interpersonal skills to handle sensitive situations.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Possesses and maintains a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Receives applications from prospective residents and explains eligibility requirements.
• Keeps application packets accurate and up to date; prepares move-in and move-out inspection packets.
• Process applications for occupancy in accordance with HUD and Fair Housing regulations.
• Assist in performing income certification, re-certification, and verification functions.
• Keeps office files and reference materials organized according to filing systems.
• Process maintenance work order requests from residents.
• Assist manager with calendar of events related to income certification and resident activities.
• Compose general correspondences and memos; proofread for accuracy.
• Maintain inventory of office supplies and ensure timely ordering.
• Provide records and reports to supervisor in a timely fashion.
• Assist with managing tenants as needed.
• Will be responsible for after-hours on-call duty.
