Job summary

The City of Carson is seeking a part-time Recreation Specialist to support community programs across recreation centers. You will input and maintain classes, handle registrations, reservations, and payments in ActiveNet, and help manage department social media.

You will provide friendly guidance to staff and the public, process inquiries, and assist in daily program operations while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience with diverse users.
• Experience with recreation management systems; ActiveNet desirable.
• Ability to process registrations, reservations, payments, and updates accurately.
• Willingness to troubleshoot and escalate issues when needed.
• Professional interaction with staff and the public in high-volume settings.
• Strong organization and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes and instructs special interest classes or programs.
• Develops and schedules classes for various age groups.
• Prepares reports on the status of the special interest class or program as needed.
• May be assigned duties as a sports official on an urgency basis.
