Job summary

City of Carson is seeking a Recreation Assistant II to lead and supervise recreational programs across age groups on a seasonal basis. The role supports special events and activities, with duties including supervising games and assisting in first aid as needed.

The position is part-time/temporary, at-will (FLSA: Non-Exempt) with a maximum of 960 hours per fiscal year. Prior leadership in recreation and the ability to read and write at necessary levels are required.

Qualifications

• Completion of formal education sufficient to read and write at the level required for job performance.
• Approximately one year of part-time leadership experience in recreational activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise recreational programs, free play and activities for various age groups on a seasonal basis.
• Assist in supervising special events and programs.
• Administer first aid when needed.
• Possible duties as a sports official on urgent basis.
