Job summary

Campbell Hall is seeking a warm, organized Receptionist to be the first voice and face for residents, families, and visitors, and to keep the front desk running smoothly during busy afternoons and weekend shifts.

As our Receptionist, you'll be the hub of communication for our facility, greeting guests, answering phones, directing inquiries, and helping coordinate schedules while staying calm and helpful in busy moments.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Proficiency with phones and basic computer skills.
  • Part-time availability for 3p–7p weekdays and 8a–1p or 1p–7p on weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Greet residents, families and visitors with warmth and professionalism.
  • Answer multi-line phone system and route calls to the appropriate staff.
  • Maintain visitor log and manage check-in procedures.
  • Schedule appointments and manage calendars for administrative staff as needed.
  • Handle inquiries about visiting hours, admissions, and facility services.
  • Coordinate with nursing and department heads to relay messages.
  • Maintain a clean, welcoming reception area and manage basic facility questions.
  • Process mail and packages and handle administrative paperwork.

Campbell Hall is a skilled nursing and long-term care community serving the residents of New York State. We're looking for a warm, organized Receptionist to be the first voice and face our residents, families, and visitors encounter—and to keep our front desk running smoothly during busy afternoons and weekend shifts.

As our Receptionist, you'll be the hub of communication for our facility. You'll greet guests, answer phones, direct calls and inquiries, manage visitor sign-ins, and help coordinate schedules. It's a role that directly shapes how families and the community experience Campbell Hall, and it requires someone who can stay calm, organized, and genuinely helpful even when things get hectic.

What you'll do

  • Greet residents, families, and visitors with warmth and professionalism; direct them to the right department or staff member
  • Answer multi-line phone system and route calls accurately to nursing, administration, and departments
  • Maintain visitor log and manage check-in procedures in compliance with facility policy
  • Schedule appointments and manage calendar for administrative staff as needed
  • Handle routine inquiries about visiting hours, admission, and facility services
  • Coordinate with nursing and department heads to relay messages and updates
  • Maintain a clean, welcoming reception area and answer basic questions about facility amenities
  • Process mail and packages; manage administrative paperwork with attention to detail

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Proficiency with phones,and basic computer skills (email, Microsoft Office)
  • Availability for part-time shifts: 3p–7p on weekdays and/or 8a–1p or 1p–7p on weekends as scheduled
  • Ability to stand, walk, and remain at reception desk for duration of shift
  • Clear, professional speaking voice and ability to communicate with diverse populations
  • Willingness to complete a New York State background clearance (BCI)
  • Proof of legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Tuberculosis (TB) screening or documentation of immunity per facility policy
