Job summary

Cedarhurst Senior Living in Logansport, IN is seeking a part-time Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) to assist residents with medications and daily living activities. You will follow care plans, document care, monitor vital signs, and coordinate with nursing and pharmacy teams to ensure safety and comfort for residents.

Qualified applicants have a state-approved QMA certification, high school diploma, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and a compassionate approach.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current and active state-approved medication aide/technician certification required.
• Insulin certification preferred.
• CPR or BLS certification preferred.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care services including medicine distribution according to individualized care plans.
• Observe residents and report condition changes to physicians and supervisors with timely interventions.
• Document observations, incidents, communications, and medication administration in the nursing record.
• Pass on information to next shift and ensure timely documentation by aides to maintain care quality.
• Check and record vital signs, weights, and blood sugars as assigned.
• Administer and document medications following the five rights.
• Provide glucose monitoring and insulin administration where certified.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, oral care, toileting, dressing).
• Support nutrition and hydration needs and document accordingly.
• Assist with transfers, ambulation, and fall prevention.
• Encourage participation in activities and provide transportation as needed.
• Maintain a restraint-free environment and participate in safety programs.
• Support orientation of new staff and lead junior team members.
