Job summary

Delaware County, Ohio is seeking a part-time dispatcher to screen calls and dispatch vehicles to destinations based on trips and driver manifests. You will monitor vehicle locations for safety and on-time performance and schedule same-day trips, with a shift pattern including Monday, Wednesday, Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings.

Join a four-person operations team, report to the operations manager, and support drivers with trip information, safety concerns, and passenger needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must possess a valid Ohio driver license and have an acceptable driving record.
• Part-time dispatcher must be adaptable to a flexible work schedule.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch vehicles after determining vehicle location, direction of travel and future destinations.
• Monitor vehicle locations to ensure safe operation and on-time performance.
• Schedule same-day trips on to driver manifests and adjust as needed to meet daily operations.
• Respond to drivers with trip information, location, passenger needs, safety or vehicle concerns.
• Provide reliable customer service by fielding inquiries and entering same-day trips.
• Provide direction to drivers based on established policies; coordinate with Road Supervisors for issues.
• Maintain, communicate, and report daily operational information electronically and manually.
• Use software tools including Microsoft Office, scheduling software, email, and internal messaging system.
• Count and document driver daily fare boxes and report discrepancies.
• Monitor drivers on duty using reasonable suspicion training on drugs/alcohol use.
• Monitor vehicle keys and re-assign vehicles as needed.
• Collaborate with Road Supervisors and Mobility Management Coordinators to resolve daily issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
