Position Summary

Cabarrus County Schools seeks an energetic and mission-driven Part-Time Project Coordinator to lead district implementation of the THRIVE Initiative and Lifestyle Medicine programming focused on employee wellness and well-being. This grant-funded position will serve as the primary coordinator of district wellness efforts, helping create a culture of wellness that supports employee health, retention, and overall workplace satisfaction.

The Project Coordinator will work collaboratively with district leadership, school-based staff, Cabarrus Health Alliance, healthcare partners, and community stakeholders to implement evidence-based wellness strategies aligned with the THRIVE initiative. The coordinator will support planning, communication, training, data collection, program implementation, and continuous improvement activities designed to increase staff well-being and promote healthy lifestyle behaviors. The initiative is a partnership among Cabarrus County Schools, Cabarrus Health Alliance, Atrium Health, and the American College of Lifestyle Medicine.

Program Leadership & Coordination
  • Serve as the district lead for the implementation of THRIVE and Lifestyle Medicine staff wellness initiatives.
  • Coordinate district wellness activities, events, campaigns, and employee engagement opportunities.
  • Facilitate communication between Cabarrus County Schools and community wellness partners.
  • Support the work of district and community steering committees focused on employee well-being.
  • Assist with developing annual implementation plans and project timelines.
  • Maintain project documentation and ensure grant-related activities are completed according to established guidelines.
Wellness Programming
  • Promote evidence-based wellness strategies aligned with the six pillars of Lifestyle Medicine.
  • Coordinate employee wellness workshops, group sessions, educational resources, and health promotion activities.
  • Support recruitment and participation in wellness programs and interventions.
  • Identify opportunities to increase staff engagement and create sustainable wellness practices throughout the district.
  • Assist schools and departments with implementing wellness-focused initiatives.
Data Collection & Reporting
  • Coordinate employee wellness needs assessments and surveys.
  • Assist with collection, analysis, and reporting of program data and outcomes.
  • Monitor participation rates, program effectiveness, and employee feedback.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for district leadership, grant partners, and stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts and data-informed decision making.
Collaboration & Communication
  • Build positive working relationships with school administrators, employee groups, healthcare professionals, and community partners.
  • Represent Cabarrus County Schools in THRIVE planning meetings and collaborative events.
  • Develop communication materials to promote wellness opportunities and share program successes.
  • Coordinate scheduling and logistics for wellness-related meetings, trainings, and events.
Administrative Responsibilities
  • Maintain project records, calendars, and implementation plans.
  • Monitor grant-funded activities and assist with required documentation.
  • Support procurement and organization of wellness program materials and resources.
  • Perform other duties related to employee wellness and grant implementation as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Human Services, Counseling, Social Work, Health Promotion, Public Health, Nursing, or a related field; or Registered Nurse
  • Experience coordinating projects, programs, initiatives, or events.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and virtual collaboration tools.
  • Ability to analyze information, maintain records, and prepare reports.
Preferred
  • Experience as a teacher, instructor, school counselor, school social worker, instructional coach, administrator, or health care provider.
  • Knowledge of employee wellness, mental health, health promotion, or Lifestyle Medicine principles.
  • Experience facilitating adult professional learning or wellness programming.

Terms of Employment
  • Part-time position working approximately 20 hours per week.
