Job summary

CALRegional is seeking a part-time Phlebotomy Technician Lead Instructor to guide students in the phlebotomy program in Rancho Cordova, CA. You will instruct on all aspects of the scope of practice and prepare students for externships, while modeling professional healthcare values.

Qualifications

Current CPT License.
3 years of documented on-the-job experience in a CLIA lab within the last 5 years.
No teaching experience is required.
Proficient in all aspects of blood collection: capillary, syringe, vacutainer, butterfly.
Comfortable speaking to large groups and multi-tasking with strong critical thinking.
Efficient with computers and technology.
Organized and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

Instructing students in all aspects of the Phlebotomy Technician scope of practice.
Evaluating, reporting, and recording student performance and progress.
Prepare students in a 72-hour class to go on to a 40-hour externship in a lab or hospital.
Assist students to develop values, attitudes, and ideals appropriate to healthcare.
Provide a professional role model for students.
