Job summary

CALRegional in California is seeking a part-time Phlebotomy Technician Lead Instructor to teach Phlebotomy Technician concepts, prepare students for externships, and serve as a professional role model. The program runs 3–12 weeks with sessions designed to fit busy schedules and a focus on practical skills in a clinical setting.

Schedule includes Monday-Thursday 5:30 pm-9:30 pm, with location in Salinas, CA.

Qualifications

Current CPT License.
3 years of documented on-the-job experience in a CLIA lab within the last 5 years.
No teaching experience required.
Proficient in all aspects of blood collection (capillary, syringe, vacutainer, butterfly).
Comfortable speaking to large groups, multi-tasking, and critical thinking.
Efficient with computers and technology; organized and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

Instructing students in all aspects of the Phlebotomy Technician scope of practice.
Evaluating, reporting, and recording student performance and progress.
Prepare students in a 72-hour class to go on to a 40-hour externship in a lab or hospital.
Assisting students to develop an understanding of values, attitudes, and ideals appropriate to the health care profession.
