Job summary

CALRegional is seeking a part-time Phlebotomy Technician Lead Instructor in Garden Grove, CA. The role teaches Phlebotomy scope of practice, evaluates student progress, and prepares learners for a 40-hour externship after a 72-hour course. Excellent communication and computer skills are essential, with flexible weekday evenings and weekends available.

Qualifications

• Current CPT License.
• 3 years of documented on-the-job experience in a CLIA lab within the last 5 years.
• No teaching experience required.
• Proficient in blood collection methods: capillary, syringe, vacutainer, butterfly.
• Comfortable speaking to large groups, multi-tasking and critical thinking.
• Efficient with computers and technology.
• Organized and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Instructing students in all aspects of the Phlebotomy Technician scope of practice.
• Evaluating, reporting, and recording student performance and progress.
• Prepare students in a 72-hour class to go on to a 40-hour externship in a lab or hospital.
• Assisting students to develop an understanding of values, attitudes, and ideals appropriate to the health care profession.
• Providing a professional role model for students.
