Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Summit, NJ seeks a Phlebotomist II for part-time work on Tue, Thu, Fri 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, with every-other-Saturday rotation. The role involves specimen collection, data entry, and lab processing in a fast-paced clinical setting.

The ideal candidate has at least three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections, and must be able to navigate laboratory information systems and billing processes. High school diploma required.

Qualifications

• Three years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime.
• Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures.
• Administer oral solutions according to established training.
• Research test/client information and confirm/verify orders using lab systems and client contact.
• Navigate computer and enter data accurately to be successful in this role.
• Obtain identification and enter billing information and collect payments when required.
• Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and preparing for transport as required.
• Perform non-patient facing duties including inventory, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones and using email.
• Read, understand and comply with departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data when required.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and temperature logs timely.
• Complete online and in-person training timely.
