Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in South Plainfield, NJ, is seeking a Phlebotomist II to collect specimens and perform associated duties Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with rotational weekends. Pay range is $24.50-$26.25 per hour.

The role includes opportunities for annual bonus compensation and a comprehensive benefits package. Responsibilities include specimen collection, data entry, and processing, with adherence to policies and use of LIS systems.

Qualifications

• Three years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime.
• Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures.
• Administer oral solutions according to established training.
• Research test/client information and verify orders using lab technology systems.
• Navigate a computer and accurately enter data.
• Obtain identification and enter billing information, collecting payments when required.
• Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and preparing for transport.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, stocking, sanitizing, filing, phones, email.
• Read and comply with departmental policies, protocols and procedures.
• Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs (maintenance, temperature) timely.
• Complete online and in-person training courses timely.
