Qualifications

• Phlebotomy or related laboratory function knowledge.

• Strong customer service skills when interfacing with physicians, patients, and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Verifies positive patient identification to ensure safety.
• Performs venipuncture and collects specimens from newborn to adult.
• Ensures specimens are labeled correctly and ready for testing.
• Performs limited testing under CLIA guidelines per policy.
• Handles calls, assists with inventory, and supports billing and other functions.
• Orders and verifies test requests and documents information for QA.
• Performs data entry of laboratory results and distributes reports.
• Instructs staff and students in phlebotomy and specimen processing.
