Job summary

Advocate Health's WI ACL Laboratories - AMG Fond du Lac is seeking a part-time Phlebotomy Technician to join a patient-centered team. You will verify patient identity, collect specimens by venipuncture across ages, and support testing and clerical tasks in a busy lab.

Typical hours are 9:00–17:30 Wednesday and Thursday and 7:00–11:00 on Fridays, with occasional Saturday shifts 8:00–12:00. Requires a high school diploma; no experience is required.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy or related laboratory function knowledge.
• Basic computer skills and experience with computer software.
• Keyboarding and typing proficiency.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Strong customer service skills interfacing with physicians, patients, visitors, and healthcare staff.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient identification and ensure patient safety.
• Perform venipuncture and collect specimens across age groups.
• Label specimens correctly and resolve identification issues.
• Perform limited testing under CLIA guidelines.
• Answer calls, assist with inventory, and support billing.
• Process specimens for testing and ensure proper tracking.
• Order and verify test requests; document quality assurance data.
• Perform result entry in the LIS.
• Instruct staff and students in phlebotomy and processing.
• Provide age-appropriate patient care knowledge.
