Job summary

Advocate Health’s 60268 WI ACL Laboratories in Fond du Lac is seeking a part-time phlebotomist to perform venipuncture, specimen collection, labeling, and basic testing under CLIA guidelines. Typical schedule includes Wednesday and Thursday 9:00–17:30 and Friday 7:00–11:00, with every fourth Saturday 8:00–12:00; total about 20 hours per week.

You will support patient care, enter results in the computer system, assist with inventory and billing, and train others in phlebotomy and processing.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates knowledge and experience in phlebotomy or related laboratory function.
• Basic computer skills including experience using computer software applications.
• Keyboarding and typing skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Good listening skills.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Demonstrated customer service skills to interface effectively with physicians, patients, visitors, and other healthcare employees.

Responsibilities

• Verifies positive patient identification to ensure patient safety.
• Performs venipuncture and collects specimens from newborn, pediatric, and adult patients.
• Obtains specimens according to priority and schedules; ensures proper labeling and testing readiness.
• Performs limited testing under CLIA guidelines.
• Answers and screens telephone calls; assists with inventory and billing support.
• Packages and tracks specimens for transport; processes specimens for testing.
