The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Pharmaceutical Care seeks a 50% time Pharmacy Technician, certified or trainee, to support clinical cancer center and ambulatory surgery center pharmacies. You will work under pharmacist supervision, handling dispensing tasks and direct patient interactions at the bedside and in clinics.

Responsibilities include screening prescriptions, data collection, triage, and program maintenance with ScriptPro.

Qualifications

• Registered with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy at time of hire.
• National certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
• High school diploma or the equivalent.
• Two years of post-high school experience and/or education in natural sciences OR completion of an accredited pharmacy technician training program.

Responsabilités

• Provide patient/customer service following guidelines.
• Screen prescriptions for completeness and formulary status.
• Conduct patient interview to collect profile information.
• Determine pickup time and fill out call checks.
• Triaging prescriptions to the appropriate team.
• Operate and maintain the ScriptPro Robot and related equipment.
• Label, package, and verify medications for dispensing.
• Maintain and audit prescription records and inventories.
