Job summary

The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Pharmaceutical Care seeks a Part-time Pharmacy Technician (Certified or Trainee) to support ambulatory care operations. Under pharmacist supervision, you will perform dispensing tasks, interact with patients, and participate in unit-wide processes.

Shifts are 8 hours, Saturdays and Sundays 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m., with occasional added shifts during the week or every other week.

Qualifications

• Registered with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy at time of hire.
• National certification through PTCB or NHA; must meet ongoing education requirements.
• High school diploma or the equivalent.
• Two years of post-high school science experience OR completion of an accredited pharmacy technician training program.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient/customer service.
• Receive and screen prescriptions for completeness and readiness.
• Interview patient or representative to collect and record profile information.
• Screen prescriptions for completeness and formulary status.
• Utilize ScriptPro Robot and manage dispensing workflows.
