The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Pharmaceutical Care, Urbandale Clinic, is seeking a 90% Pharmacy Technician Certified or Trainee to join our team. Under pharmacist supervision you will process prescriptions, verify coverage, and prepare medications with accuracy and safety.

You may travel to Waukee or nearby locations as needed. Qualifications include Iowa Board of Pharmacy registration, PTCB or NHA certification, high school diploma, and either completion of a technician

Formación

Must be registered with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy at hire.
National certification through PTCB or NHA; ongoing education required.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Two years of post-high school experience in natural sciences or completion of an accredited technician program.

Responsabilidades

Process prescriptions by entering/verifying patient coverage and third party information.
Fill and refill prescriptions with correct medication, labeling, and records.
Communicate with patients and staff per guidelines; gather patient demographics and coverage info.
Complete aseptic compliance and training tests.
Mix and label chemotherapy and biologic therapies; perform cleanroom maintenance.
Unpack supplies, stock locations, and maintain equipment cleanliness.
Conduct inventory checks and audits; assist training of new technicians.
