Job Description
PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

This position will mentor and advise students about highereducation, including the financial aid, completing FAFSAapplication, and Apply Texas application. Mentor will also providefinancial aid options and assist students with finding andutilizing appropriate resources. Required to provide high levelinformation. May interact one-on-one with students. May interactwith a high volume of customers. Will work with and assist diversegroups.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  8. Set up Financial Aid equipment (such as go-centercomputers)
  9. Event preparation and support
  10. Collect and record dataMaintain knowledge of multiple programs
  11. Provide limited technology support to end users
  12. Interpret regulations and policies
  13. Maintain and/or process records
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably todo the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending;carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; ordriving an automobile. No special physical demands are required toperform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:
  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in aMicrosoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other generaloffice equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed tocarry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimalexposure to safety hazards
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Must be a currently enrolled Lone Star student pursuing acourse of study
Salary

Hourly Pay Rate is $16.22
