Job summary

OrthoCarolina Pineville is seeking a part-time Patient Services Specialist to greet patients, collect and verify information, and enter data into EPIC to ensure timely claim processing.

You will handle phone calls, appointment scheduling, cashier duties including posting charges and collecting co-pays, and help with medical information requests. Excellent customer service and HIPAA compliance are valued.

Qualifications

• Greet patients and collect/verify information for claims.
• Experience with EPIC/EMR and knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• High school diploma or higher required; one year clinic experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and prepare paperwork for visits.
• Enter patient data into EPIC for claims processing.
• Answer calls, schedule appointments, and perform cashier duties including posting charges.
• Collect co-pays/coinsurance and balances due, and handle information releases as requested.

Job description

Under general supervision and according to prescribed procedures, greets patients, prepares forms, collects, verifies and enters patient information into Centricity necessary for the timely and accurate processing of patient claims. Prepares paper work necessary for the patient visit.

Answers incoming phone calls and directs calls, makes appointments, performs cashier duties as directed by the Practice Manager to include posting of charges, collection of co-payments/co-insurance and balances due.

Follows process for release of medical information and FMLA/disability forms completion as requested.

Position Overview

We are currently searching for a part-time Patient Services Specialist to work with our OrthoCarolina Pineville team. The schedule is Monday through Thursday from 9am-2pm.

The Patient Services Specialist greets patients, prepares forms, collects, verifies and enters patient information into EPIC necessary for the timely and accurate processing of patient claims.

Essential Functions

Qualifications
