Job summary

OrthoCarolina’s Spine Center in Charlotte is seeking a Patient Services Specialist to support front-desk operations and patient flow. You will prepare patient visit paperwork, manage calls, schedule appointments, and handle cashier duties including collecting co-pays and balances due.

Experience with Epic/EMR, strong customer service skills, and knowledge of medical terminology are preferred. A high school diploma or higher is required, with a preference for candidates with clinic experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum one year experience in a medical clinic setting is preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills required; experience with Epic/EMR is a plus.
• Knowledge of medical terminology helpful and HIPAA familiarity beneficial.

We are currently searching for a Patient Services Specialist to work with our OrthoCarolina team at our Spine Center located in Charlotte.

Essential Functions

• Prepares paperwork necessary for the patient visit.
• Answers incoming phone calls and directs calls, makes appointments, performs Cashier duties as directed including posting of charges, Collection of co-payments/co-insurance and balances due.
• Follows the process for release of medical information and FMLA/disability forms completion as requested.
