Job summary

Patient First is seeking a part-time Patient Service Representative in Odenton, MD to support patient flow and billing inquiries. The role requires clerical experience, strong communication, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

The position involves using kiosks, registering patients, verifying demographics and insurance, handling cash, and providing warm customer service during shifts. Training on EMR systems will be provided.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Basic typing skills.
• Minimum one year of clerical experience preferred.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for up to 7 hours at a time.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Excellent verbal, written, and typed communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Willing to work at any center due to a staffing issue, center emergency, or a reduction of work.

Responsibilities

• Assisting patients using the kiosk prior to registration.
• Escort patients to treatment area to be registered and evaluated.
• Respectfully handling Physician and Nurse requests.
• Communicating information about billing policies.
• Accurately registering patients with excellent customer service.
• Verifying all patient demographic, health, pharmacy, and insurance information.
• Answering billing and insurance questions and providing itemized billing statements.
• Collecting money and issuing receipts for visits, diagnostics, and supplies.
• Discharging the patient and processing incurred charges.
• Completing cash management duties at shift end.
• Answering incoming calls and distributing messages in a timely manner.
