Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of customer service experience or 1 year in a medical setting; an Associate degree may substitute.

Responsibilities

• Works independently to complete assignments with minimal supervision, improves workflows, and identifies solutions.
• Selects appropriate communication methods for different audiences and adjusts as needed.
• Explains insurance benefits and patient financial liability clearly.
• Verifies and validates insurance information using online payer systems.
• Coordinates with other departments to assist or transport patients and interview patients to collect required information.
• Educates patients on applications for alternative sources of payment for healthcare services.
• Reports safety hazards and protects patients and staff until help arrives.
• Communicates scheduling changes to patients and staff promptly.
