Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; healthcare/business coursework a plus.
• Experience in patient registration, admitting, scheduling, billing, customer service, or medical office preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance processes, referrals, and prior authorizations (or willingness to learn quickly).
• Strong attention to detail with accurate entry, verification, and maintenance of patient information.
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills; able to explain processes clearly and respectfully.

Responsibilities

• Explain hospital regulations and processes, including visiting hours, account payments, and charges; escort patients as needed.
• Enter and verify admitting/registration information for departments to receive accurate patient details.
• Maintain records and documentation with accuracy and confidentiality.
• Coordinate with departments to support efficient patient flow and service delivery.
• Build positive relationships with patients, families, providers, coworkers, and community partners.
• Assist visitors with directions and introductions to create a welcoming environment.
