Job summary

Olympia School District is seeking a part-time Paraeducator to assist teachers with lesson implementation, maintain student records, and monitor students for safety in a constructive learning environment.

The role involves bookkeeping for a student store, inventory management, and supervising students working in the store. Candidates must meet education/assessment requirements and complete health trainings as needed.

Qualifications

• Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent, AND when applicable completion of Parapro assessment or Master Teacher Inc. Paraeducator program OR 72 quarter or 48 semester credits (official transcript required).
• Experience with school age children preferred, paid or volunteer.
• Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance and health trainings may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assists teachers to implement lesson plans and prepare classroom materials.
• Maintains classroom equipment and student files to ensure materials are available.
• Monitors students during class, playground, and other activities to ensure safety and positive learning environments.
• Performs basic clerical tasks, scheduling, copying, and record-keeping to support teachers.
