Intermountain Health's St. Mary’s Regional Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado is launching a new outpatient pharmacy and seeks an Outpatient Pharmacy Technician.

This part-time role (20 hours per week) supports pharmacists, helps establish workflows, coordinates medication access, and delivers patient-centered care in a retail-like setting.

Ideal candidates have retail pharmacy experience and a demonstrated commitment to accuracy, teamwork, and compliant practice.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current pharmacy technician certification and/or license applicable to state of practice.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations and statutes regarding pharmacy practice.
• Retail pharmacy experience is a strong plus; top candidates have it.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in preparing prescriptions and maintaining records.
• Use pharmacy technology to prepare medication orders, perform calculations, and assist in compounding as needed.
• Attain supervision and accuracy checks by the pharmacist and understand when verification is required.
• Fill and maintain medication supplies, including controlled substances, with accuracy and cost awareness.
• Communicate with caregivers, participate in quality and patient safety initiatives, and elevate urgent items to the pharmacist.
