Job summary

Intermountain Health at St. Mary’s Regional Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado, is launching a new outpatient pharmacy. Become an Outpatient Pharmacy Technician and help build workflows, assist pharmacists, prepare prescriptions, and coordinate medication access in a growing program.

The role is part-time (20 hours weekly, Monday through Friday) with potential to increase as the pharmacy grows. You will work closely with the team to deliver patient-centered care in a retail-like environment

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent is required.
• Current pharmacy technician certification and/or license applicable to state of practice.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding pharmacy practice and distribution of drugs.

Responsibilities

• Assists the pharmacist in collecting clinical and other patient information and maintaining records as required by regulation and policy.
• Utilizes pharmacy technology to prepare medication orders for dispensing and perform calculations.
• Attains supervision and accuracy checks by the pharmacist when needed.
• Maintains medication supplies and monitors controlled substance inventories.
• Communicates with caregivers regarding responsibilities and participates in quality and patient safety initiatives.
