Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health in Richmond is seeking an Operating Room Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality care in pre-admission testing. You will collaborate with the surgical team, perform initial assessments, and coordinate pre-, intra-, and post-operative care to ensure patient safety.

The role requires an accredited nursing degree, active RN licensure, BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications (as applicable), and a commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care within a faith-based health system.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Associates degree or Bachelors degree in Nursing.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• BLS Basic Life Support, ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support or PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (preferred at hire).
• CNOR Certified Perioperative Nurse (preferred, not required).
• SGNA Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (preferred, not required).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment.
• Observe the surgery and surgical team and assist to maintain a safe environment.
• Manage nursing care of the patient within the OR and coordinate needs with other care providers.
• Provide pre-op, intra-op and post-op care, including discharge instructions.
