Job summary

Jefferson Health's Abington campus is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for the Operating Room. The role requires completing a specialized nursing program and PA licensure, with duties spanning patient care, education, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.

The nurse will use evidence-based practice, participate in safety and quality initiatives, and support discharge planning while delivering patient- and family-centered care in a busy perioperative setting.

Qualifications

• Specialized Diploma graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
• Patient-and Family-Centered Practice knowledge for care planning.
• Cultural awareness and ability to work with diverse populations.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with patients and families.
• Knowledge of nursing assessment, care planning, and clinical judgment.
• Ability to educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and post-discharge steps.
• Knowledge of medication administration and prescribing considerations.
• Discharge planning and coordination for follow-up care.
• Knowledge of health information documentation and charting.
• BLS - Basic Life Support per American Heart Association.
• Licensed Registered Nurse in PA.
