Job summary

Jefferson Health seeks a part-time Registered Nurse—Operating Room for the Abington campus. The role is 24 hours per week, with day shifts. Completion of Periop 101 is preferred.

The nurse will provide perioperative care, coordinate with the surgical team, and educate patients and families as part of a patient- and family-centered approach. Minimum qualifications include an accredited nursing diploma and PA RN license; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing is required.
• Current RN license in the state of practice (PA).
• Perioperative knowledge and nursing competencies.
• Strong communication with patients and families and with the care team.
• Ability to document care and outcomes accurately.
• Able to work with diverse patient populations in a fast-paced OR.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in the operating room setting per perioperative standards.
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesiologists, and staff to ensure safe patient care.
• Education and support for patients and families before and after procedures.
• Use information systems to document care, monitor outcomes, and support safety.
• Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives.
• Demonstrate commitment to learning and professional growth.
