Job summary

Jefferson Health is seeking a Part-time Registered Nurse - Operating Room at the Abington campus. This 24 hours per week position follows a Day shift schedule and completion of Periop 101 is preferred.

The nurse delivers patient- and family-centered care using the nursing process, develops care plans with patients or designated care partners, and collaborates across inter-professional teams to ensure safe, respectful, and culturally sensitive care.

Qualifications

• Specialized Diploma graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Knowledge of patient- and family-centered practice and cultural awareness.
• Effective communication and delegation skills.
• Knowledge of patient assessment, care planning, and discharge planning.
• Knowledge of health information documentation and IT usage.
• BLS certification and PA RN license.
• Commitment to continuing education and precepting.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with patients and families to identify learning needs and priorities and provide education.
• Minimize risk by following nursing practices and protocols.
• Use IT to document, communicate, and monitor outcomes and support safety.
• Foster inter-professional teamwork with clear communication and shared decision-making.
• Support professional growth and act as a preceptor when appropriate.
• Participate in safety and quality committees and implement feedback for improvement.
