Job summary

National Vision’s Eyeglass World in Des Moines is seeking a part-time Optical Specialist. This customer-facing role supports eyewear selection, final fitting, and pickup, ensuring a seamless, brand-aligned in-store experience.

You will assist with pre-exam tasks and finish orders, upholding quality and presentation. We offer a benefits-focused environment with training and growth opportunities, while Sundays are closed to provide a predictable schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering warm, confident service in retail or optical
• Ability to guide customers through eyewear selection and fitting
• Strong communication and education of customers about products
• Multitasking, time management and organizational skills required
• Ability to prioritize customer satisfaction in every interaction

Responsibilities

• Create an exceptional customer experience at every visit
• Guide customers through eyewear selection, final fitting, and education
• Ensure customers leave confident in their eyewear and experience
• Support patient flow and pre-exam steps to assist optometrists
• Finish orders with quality checks and brand-aligned presentation
• Maintain a clean, organized finish and retail area
