Job summary

National Vision is seeking a part-time Optical Specialist to join Eyeglass World in Peoria. This customer-facing role focuses on eyewear selection, fitting, and finishing with a strong emphasis on service quality and brand standards.

You will assist customers through the eyewear journey, ensure smooth transitions from exam to pickup, and uphold store standards while delivering a polished experience. Prior retail or optical exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (Required).
• 1+ year experience in optical, retail, sales, or customer service (Required).
• Strong multitasking, time management and organizational skills (Required).
• Clear communication and the ability to educate customers effectively (Required).
• Ability to prioritize customer satisfaction at every interaction (Required).

Responsibilities

• Deliver warm, confident, and personalized service at every stage of the visit.
• Guide customers through eyewear selection, final fitting, and product education.
• Ensure customers leave feeling confident in both their eyewear and their experience.
• Assist with patient flow and pre exam screenings to support Optometrists.
• Perform finishing work including final adjustments, inspections and quality checks.
• Prepare orders for pickup and deliver polished, brand aligned handoff.
• Operate order entry, tracking, and timely completion.
