Job summary

National Vision's Eyeglass World in Fort Wayne is seeking a part-time Optical Specialist. You’ll be customer-facing, guiding eyewear selection, assisting with fittings, and ensuring every interaction reflects the brand.

This role blends service, optical support, and finish work to deliver a polished, on-brand experience. You’ll perform finishing tasks, support pre-exam flow, and help maintain clean, organized work and retail areas.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1+ year of experience in optical, retail, sales, or customer service is required.
• Strong multitasking and organizational skills are required.
• Excellent communication and ability to educate customers.

Responsibilities

• Deliver warm, confident, and personalized service at every stage of the visit.
• Guide customers through eyewear selection, final fitting, and product education.
• Ensure customers leave feeling confident in both their eyewear and their experience.
• Perform finishing work including final adjustments, inspections and quality checks.
• Prepare orders for pickup and deliver polished, brand-aligned handoffs.
