Job summary

Excelsior University is seeking part-time clinical instructors to support nursing courses. You will onboard with the clinical site, maintain CLO policies, and supervise student clinical experiences. The role requires weekend work, patient assignment coordination, and timely feedback based on rubrics.

You will demonstrate nursing expertise using EHR and clinical technology, conduct Zoom sessions, and evaluate student performance while supporting retention initiatives.

Qualifications

• Master's in nursing or BSN with active enrollment toward a master's/doctoral degree in Nursing.
• Active NYS RN license (unencumbered).
• Minimum 5 years RN experience in varied clinical areas across lifespan.
• Current clinical experience in an acute care hospital setting.
• Experience supervising nursing students and/or new graduate RNs.
• Strong written and verbal communication; clear, concise presentation.
• Experience with educational technology and video conferencing.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Complete onboarding and site-specific training requirements.
• Adhere to institution policies in the Clinical Faculty Handbook.
• Work 2 non-consecutive weekends during each 8-week term with defined hours.
• Grade clinical assignments using course rubrics by due dates.
• Remain present for the full clinical day and hours.
• Coordinate patient assignments for each student per objectives.
• Demonstrate nursing skills and technology use (EHR, med dispensing, IV pumps).
• Participate in pre- and post-clinical activities in Canvas LMS.
• Suspend synchronous Zoom sessions as indicated and engage students.
