Excelsior University is seeking part-time clinical instructors to support course content and supervise nursing students during clinical experiences in a university setting. Responsibilities include responding to student needs, delivering timely feedback, and applying clinical expertise to guide student practice.

In this role, you will work within Canvas LMS, coordinate patient assignments, and conduct Zoom sessions.

Qualifications

Master's degree in nursing required; or Bachelor of Science in Nursing with active enrollment toward a master's/doctoral degree.
Active NYS RN license.
Minimum of 5 years of RN experience in varied clinical areas.

Responsibilities

Complete all institution-sponsored training program.
Fulfill all requirements and adhere to institution policies.
Work 2 non-consecutive weekends at a clinical site during an 8-week course term (Fri 6 hours incl orientation; Sat/Sun 12 hours each).
Remain present for the entire clinical day.
Plan and coordinate patient assignments for each student.
Demonstrate competency with nursing skills and associated technology (EHR, automation, smart pumps).
Familiarize with assigned clinical units and complete required training.
Participate in pre- and post-clinical activities with students in Canvas LMS.
Conduct synchronous Zoom sessions with students as indicated by the course.
Provide evidence-based professional examples.
Provide individualized feedback summarizing strengths and areas for improvement.
Complete per-student clinical performance rubrics promptly.
