Job summary
Excelsior University seeks part-time clinical instructors to coordinate with instructional faculty and deliver high-quality clinical experiences. Instructors are expected to respond promptly to student needs, provide formative feedback, and demonstrate nursing expertise through supervision and evaluation of student clinical experiences.
The role includes onboarding, coursework alignment, weekend clinical duties, and engagement with students via Canvas LMS and Zoom sessions.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in nursing or BSN with active enrollment toward advanced degree in Nursing.
- Active NYS RN license.
- Minimum of 5 years of RN experience in varied clinical areas.
- Current clinical experience within an acute care hospital setting.
- Experience supervising nursing students and/or new graduate RNs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with educational technology including video conferencing.
- Current BLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Complete onboarding and training requirements.
- Work 2 weekends during an 8-week term (Fri orientation 2h; Sat/Sun 12.5h each, 6:30am–7:00pm).
- Grade clinical assignments by rubrics and due dates.
- Provide timely feedback to students.
- Coordinate patient assignments and supervise clinical experiences.
- Conduct synchronous Zoom sessions with students.
- Deliver evidence-based professional examples to students.
