Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Nurse Aide to support nursing staff during the night shift. You will assist with daily patient care, monitor vitals, and document in the EMR under RN supervision.

The role includes rotating weekends and holidays and requires BLS and a state nurse aide registration in good standing. Responsibilities include patient bathing, feeding, positioning, and assisting with transfers, as well as specimen collection and adherence to infection control procedures.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills to document in EMR and communicate with team.
• Excellent oral and written communication to coordinate patient care.
• Strong organizational skills to manage patient needs and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care including bathing, hygiene, feeding, mobility, and positioning.
• Record and document vital signs and intake/output in the EMR.
• Perform rounds and promptly communicate observations to the RN.
• Support admission, transfer, and discharge activities under RN supervision.
• Collect specimens and assist with specimen labeling and processing as directed.
• Transport and transfer patients and manage room setup and supplies.
• Assist with diet order fulfillment and patient meal delivery.
• Maintain infection control practices and ensure patient safety at all times.
