Job summary

IU Health in Avon, IN is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCA) to support bedside care, assist with meals, mobility, baths, and linen changes. You will help the bedside RN by obtaining vitals and reporting changes, while maintaining patient safety with gait belts and alarms.

Qualifications

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Knowledge of age appropriate care for patients.
• Up-to-date knowledge of patient care procedures and standards.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure with frequent interruptions.
• Ability to read and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Provide drinks, assist with meals, and support meal ordering.
• Encourage walking and assist with mobility.
• Assist with baths and changing linens and gowns.
• Obtain vital signs and report abnormalities to the RN.
• Maintain patient safety using gait belts and alarms.
