Job summary

Indiana University Health is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCA) to provide compassionate bedside care and assist with activities of daily living. The PCA will support RNs by obtaining vital signs, helping with baths, meals, and mobility, and maintaining patient safety with gait belts and alarms.

Two 12-hour shifts per week are available, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient experiences. The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and timely communication within a fast-paced hospital

Qualifications

• Current Basic Life Support certification required by AHA or completed during PCA education program.
• Ability to obtain vital signs and report abnormalities to RN.
• Ability to assist with activities of daily living and patient comfort.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care and assist with meals, baths, and mobility.
• Assist with ordering meals and encouraging patient walking.
• Maintain patient safety with gait belts and alarms; stay within reach.
• Communicate effectively with RN and charge nurse about patient needs.
