Sonesta International Hotels in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Night Auditor to balance hotel income and expenses on a 24-hour cycle and serve as a Guest Service Agent on overnight shifts. The role includes system liaison duties for Opera, SynXis, or other support systems during overnight hours.

The Night Auditor will ensure accurate reporting, assist with breakfast setup, handle guest registrations, and maintain front desk operations with a focus on Sonesta Service standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• One year of hotel experience.
• Experience with Opera systems.
• Reading and writing skills are utilized when compiling department records, guest registration and reservation information.
• Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English; other languages beneficial.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Mathematical skills, including basic math, percentages, and variances preferred.
• Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Opera systems preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• May be required to obtain ServSafe certification.
• May be required to obtain a TIPS certification.
• Will be required to work mornings, evening, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Deliver on the promise of Sonesta Service in all interactions with guests and clients according to the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards.
• Balance and audit room revenue, food and beverage revenue and telephone revenue for accuracy; assist in the preparation of all reports relevant to daily revenues.
• Balance and audit all room tax charges, cashier reports, and guest house accounts for accuracy.
• Complete and transmit daily management/accounting reports with any supporting documentation ensuring the accurate accounting of the hotel revenues and expenses.
• Prepare General Manager daily, weekly and month end reporting packs.
• Assist in the setup of the complimentary breakfast service including hot and cold foods and beverage stations.
• Assist in washing, drying, and folding hotel laundry.
• Act as the security point of contact during various times in the shift.
• Communicate with the Operations Manager to resolve accounting discrepancies and request/provide information.
• Register guests, issue room keys, provide information on hotel services, and answer phones promptly.
• Process all cash and credit card transactions per procedures including posting charges, cashier reports, deposits, and secure banks.
• Routinely book guest reservations and upsell rooms when possible.
• Follow seasonal reservation strategies regarding room type and stay length pricing.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily coordination with other shifts.
• Serve the shoppe and the pour, following local alcohol laws.
• Fulfill guest requests and ensure delivery of services.
• Issue, control and release guest safe-deposit boxes.
• Comply with health, safety, and alcohol service laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
