Indiana University Health, Inc. is seeking a Part-Time Medical Assistant in Bloomington, IN, to support clinical and front-desk functions under supervision. You will room patients, record vital signs, and assist with procedures, lab work, and referrals.

The role requires a CMA/CCMA/RMA certification, up-to-date BLS, and knowledge of OSHA/CLIA. Prior experience is not mandatory, but 0-2 years is acceptable. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required or completion of a High School sponsored CTE program and currently enrolled in High School.
• New hires and promotions after October 12, 2026 require graduation from a Medical Assistant program.
• Requires 0-2 years of relevant experience.
• Current certification in medical assisting (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, CMAC) is required.
• AHA Basic Life Support for healthcare workers certification is required.
• Knowledge of OSHA, CLIA, and ADA.
• Knowledge of insurance plans and third-party payers; ability to master clinical competencies.

Responsibilities

• Rooming and preparing patients for appointments
• Obtaining and documenting vital signs
• Completing accurate patient assessments and clinical documentation
• Performing cognitive exams as indicated
• Collecting laboratory specimens and completing lab draws
• Managing incoming and outgoing patient phone calls
• Processing and coordinating prior authorizations
• Supporting providers and clinical staff to ensure efficient patient care and workflow operations
