Job summary

The Museum of Jewish Heritage is seeking Part-Time Visitor Services Representatives in New York, NY. You will be the frontline staff, greeting visitors, selling tickets, handling payments, and guiding guests about exhibitions and local information.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree or coursework toward it and excellent customer service. Evening/weekend availability is preferred; 24–29 hours per week, with some night shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or significant coursework plus customer service experience.
• Excellent customer service, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team to accomplish varied responsibilities.
• Familiarity with Altru or similar ticketing/CRM software.
• Evening and weekend availability is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors, provide museum orientation and answer routine inquiries.
• Sell admissions tickets and memberships; process cash/credit transactions.
• Open/close cash drawer and reconcile daily takings.
• Support coat check, gift shop, and in-gallery needs.
• Answer calls at Visitor Services and assist with information about NYC.
• Support adult and school groups on arrival.
• Distribute multilingual audio guides and instruct usage.
• Stock desk with brochures and visitor information.
