Job summary

The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, seeks a Security Officer II to help protect exhibits and support a welcoming, accessible visitor experience. In this part-time weekday and weeknights role, you’ll perform patrols, monitor galleries and facilities, assist with crowd control during exhibitions, and communicate with the Command Center to uphold security protocols.

• Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and evenings as needed.
• Physical stamina for long periods of walking and standing.
• Basic computer user skills and familiarity with security equipment.
• Multilingual skills and security experience are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service to visitors, staff and volunteers throughout the Museum.
• Perform routine patrols of assigned areas, including galleries and facilities.
• Assist with crowd control management during highly attended exhibitions and events.
• Maintain communication with the Command Center and report security concerns.
• Identify potential security risks and respond calmly to incidents.
